Woke up to find the headache of the earlier day had left me, read The National and FT online, brunched on some delicious quesadilla. I give it to preeta to use the limited ingredients at her disposal to rustle up an item. I know she loves to cook for me and likes to see me enjoying it. Post lunch we did our long pending visit to see the progress of our building at Liwan.
It was good to see the work progressing at least on the Mazaya plots. It was also encouraging to see the contruction of one of the electric sub-stations, i take it as an indication that the master developer Mizin is doing its share. With the whole Dubai mess, i sincerely hope that these guys keep up to their commitment with the infrastructure of the master development.
Our building is clearly in its first stage and it looks highly unlikely that they'd be able to deliver possession as promised on 1st Aug 10. I need to go through the lease agreement on the simple interest term and understand what will be the terms if the possession is delayed.
Post lunch of idlis, we attended the Body Combat classes, shopped for veggies and had an early dinner watching the film Milk. A film on the life of Harvey Milk, America's first openly gay person to hold a Public Office. Sean Penn's done a fantastic job as Milk, but the film was slow and did not really keep me engaged, except for the curiosity on how Milk was finally assassinated. The film is probably more relevant to Americans as it was an event from their national history and of course to the gay community worldwide... am sure they find the man and the film highly inspirational.
Overall its been a good weekend, i loved the way we rang in the New Year on the beach, the TT session last evening and today. The coming week is going to see pressure build up sharply before losing steam by end of the week. Next week is also a toastmasters meeting....i need to shake my inertia or fear and do a project.
I intend to write regularly, hope to keep this too consistent.
ciao.
